In the 1960s we sang protest songs. Now poetry is our protest music, the herald and chronicler of our day. This month we have been processing the promotional pieces for the first book issued by WISE WOMAN PRESS. This was compiled earlier, and so greatly reflects the heartbreak and frustration. We live in a society that has become desensitized, to terms like "gun violence" yet none of us are desensitized, to still limp hands which are no longer warm. Carolyn is a mother and a grandmother. These three poems about children being killed come from her heart and connect with ours, especially on days such as today.
